The dishes built on the old railway. These are the 5 at the extreme West of the group. Four of which used to travel along the railway into the distance from this position. They are now all fixed and the other dishes have also been clustered at his site just out the picture on the left. They are now referred to as the Large Array and now work in conjunction with the Small Array. As a team they are known as the Arcminute Microkelvin Imager. Used for detecting distant clusters of galaxies. |
